More recalls at Ford. What the hell is going on?

Due to a defect identified by the federal road safety agency in the wiper arms of Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs, as well as some F-series pickups, Ford has launched a massive recall campaign involving over 400,000 vehicles produced and sold in North America.

After the campaign involving over 4.4 million vehicles – mostly pickups – launched last February, the one of 1.5 million vehicles in September and the latest of 254,000 SUVs announced at the end of March, Ford today announces a new recall.

THE NEW FORD RECALL

According to the announcement by the federal road safety agency, namely the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the new recall will involve 422,613 vehicles from the Blue Oval.

THE DEFECT AND THE AFFECTED MODELS

These are vehicles, it is learned, produced and sold in the United States due to a wiper malfunction. The recall concerns the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs, as well as some F-series pickups, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

According to the Agency, the wiper arms could break, causing the wipers themselves to malfunction.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that once owners have been notified by letter, they will have to take their vehicles to authorized dealerships that will inspect and replace the wiper arms.
