Starting from March 18, the ecobonus to encourage the purchase of electric or hybrid mopeds and motorcycles is underway. From 12 noon today, dealers will be able to book the incentives through the dedicated portal.
WHICH MOTORCYCLES AND MOPEDS THE ECOBONUS COVERS
According to the guidelines of Mimit, the two-wheeled vehicles covered by the measure belong to categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, and L7e.
WHAT THE MEASURE CONSISTS OF
The bonus amount will be calculated as a percentage of the vehicle price: 30% for purchases without scrapping, up to a maximum of 3,000 euros, and 40% for purchases with scrapping up to a maximum of 4,000 euros.
For the incentive, the 2021 Budget Law had provided a total allocation of 150 million euros: 20 million annually from 2021 to 2023 and 30 million annually from 2024 to 2026. The measure is managed by Invitalia on behalf of the ministry led by Adolfo Urso.
BRANDS BENEFITING FROM THE MEASURE
The pool of motorcycle and moped manufacturers covered by the bonus is large, starting with the Piaggio Group which produces both the Vespa Elettrica and the scooters in the Piaggio 1 range. Staying in Italy, there is also Askoll which has multiple urban electric scooters, then Fantic Motor from Barzago, in the Lecco area, and Bologna-based Wayel. Among the Italian brands we again find Energica Motor Company, after the recent period of crisis it went through, in case one wants to focus on sport and naked bikes.
FOREIGN BRANDS
Of course, the list also includes foreign brands such as the Chinese Niu, very popular in Italy for its quality-price ratio with models like the MQi and NQi series that fully qualify for the bonuses. Also Chinese are Yaeda and Lifan. Staying in the East, there are some electric offerings also in the lineups of historic brands such as the Japanese Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha.
Among Western foreign brands, we count the offerings in the lineups of the German BMW, the Iberian Seat Mò line, and finally the Australian VMoto known for the TC Max and the CPx.
