OpenAi has created a new company to promote the use of artificial intelligence in businesses. Called OpenAi Deployment Company, it has a capital of over 4 billion dollars and is controlled by OpenAi but supported by numerous investment groups such as Tpg, Brookfield, Advent, and Bain Capital.
WHAT OPENAI DEPLOYMENT COMPANY WILL DO
The company aims to place specialized engineers directly within businesses to help them understand where and how to implement AI functionalities. In this regard, OpenAi has announced that it will acquire the consulting firm Tomoro, specialized in these technologies: it was founded in 2023 and counts Mattel, Red Bull, Virgin Atlantic, and Tesco among its main clients.
THE CHALLENGE WITH ANTHROPIC IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR BUSINESSES
The creation of the Deployment Company signals the growing competition between OpenAi and Anthropic (the startup best known for the chatbot Claude) in the artificial intelligence market for businesses: Anthropic is already focused on this more profitable segment, while OpenAi has targeted a general audience.
Moreover, in early May Anthropic announced the creation of a $1.5 billion joint venture with Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and Hellman & Friedman dedicated to introducing the Claude language model into small and medium-sized business processes. The new company will be independent but will integrate Anthropic’s engineers into its staff.
OPENAI COLLABORATES WITH THE EU ON CYBERSECURITY
OpenAi and Anthropic also compete in the cybersecurity sector. On Monday, OpenAi said it will offer the European Union access to its new cybersecurity-dedicated model, Gpt-5.5-Cyber; Anthropic, on the other hand, has not yet taken a similar step with its Mythos model.
According to OpenAi, access to Gpt-5.5-Cyber will also be extended to European governments, cybersecurity agencies, Union bodies, and businesses.
WHAT ANTHROPIC IS DOING WITH MYTHOS
OpenAi arrived later than Anthropic in cybersecurity, but it seems to have beaten it to the punch in Europe. However, the company led by Dario Amodei has already launched a security initiative centered on the Mythos model, capable of matching the performance of high-level human specialists in identifying and exploiting software vulnerabilities. Anthropic has limited access to Mythos to a handful of companies – including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Nvidia – that have agreed to use it exclusively for defensive purposes.
