Space is no longer just a frontier for scientific exploration, but a new arena for economic, technological, and geopolitical confrontation. The growth of the private industry, the proliferation of satellite constellations, the risks of militarization of orbit, and government strategies — including Italy’s — are profoundly transforming the space sector.
These topics will be at the center of the presentation of “Space Wars – Conflicts and Competition for Resources in the Era of Private Companies,” the book by Valentina Chabert, a PhD in international law and international policy analyst for magazines, think tanks, and research centers.
The volume analyzes the evolution of space as a strategic domain through a historical, economic, legal, and military perspective, offering a key to understanding the new power dynamics beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
At the event, Karolina Muti, senior researcher in Defense, Security, and Space at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), will speak in dialogue with the author. The moderation will be entrusted to Valerio Giardinelli, Managing Director & Partner of Innovative Publishing, the publishing company of Start Magazine.
The book presentation will take place on Tuesday, April 14 at 3 PM, live streaming on startmag.it and on the Start Magazine YouTube channel.
