Startup, what Tim and Cdp will do

Tim and Cdp Venture Capital have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to identify innovative startups and SMEs with high potential of mutual interest and to enhance digital sovereignty.

Tim and Cdp have announced that they have signed a protocol committing both to identifying startups and SMEs with critical technologies for digital sovereignty, belonging to the portfolio of CDP Venture Capital or TIM’s deal flow scouting, and to evaluate potential industrial, commercial, and technological collaboration initiatives.

KEYWORD? DIGITAL SOVEREIGNTY

The agreement was born with the aim of strengthening Italy’s ability to develop and enhance Italian technologies in strategic areas for the country’s digital sovereignty, providing a coordinated set of industrial expertise, technological capabilities, and financial resources. The goal is to accelerate the development of innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud, smart city and smart infrastructure, defense, and new services and technological enablers in the consumer sector.

The partnership’s operating model is based on the industrial validation of the most promising technologies, which allows certifying mature solutions ready to be integrated into national critical systems. Furthermore, CDP Venture Capital will collaborate within TIM’s Open Innovation Program to promote the identification and development of innovative technological solutions and possible industrial synergies through specific financing channels, joint go-to-market activities, access to the enterprise market, and Public Administration.

The agreement – the parties communicate – leverages, on one side, TIM’s industrial, technological, and commercial capabilities, and on the other, CDP Venture Capital’s expertise in supporting high-potential innovative companies. The collaboration aims to create a favorable environment for entrepreneurial and technological development, offering Italian startups access to industrial validation, commercial channels, qualified capital, and growth opportunities, with the goal of contributing concretely to Italy’s digital transformation.

OTHER COLLABORATIONS

Tim and Cdp Venture Capital have already begun operational collaboration with two important entities from CDP Venture Capital’s portfolio: Cubbit, which has developed an innovative geo-distributed cloud storage technology, and CAEmate, active in engineering and modeling solutions through Digital Twin for the preventive maintenance of infrastructures. The collaboration with these startups represents the intention to adopt national solutions on real use cases together with an industrial partner and to support them towards structured growth paths.
